LITIGATION

Associate

(EMPLOYMENT/

CIVIL DISPUTES)

About the Role – Litigation Associate (Employment / Civil Disputes)

We are looking for a dedicated lawyer to join our Litigation & Employment (LIT-E) practice as a litigation associate with a focus on employment and civil/commercial disputes. In this role, you will handle a broad range of contentious matters, from unfair dismissal claims and industrial relations disputes, to civil and commercial litigation across various subject areas. You will also support clients on pre-dispute advisory, giving practical, business-oriented advice on workplace and commercial issues. This is a hands-on, litigation-focused role with direct client exposure, fast learning, and real responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Representing employers in unfair dismissal claims at the Industrial Court, as well as handling related appeals and judicial reviews.
  • Handling civil and commercial litigation, including but not limited to contentious commercial matters, employment-related civil claims, injunctions, contractual disputes, and other corporate disputes.
  • Representing clients in labour office matters and other employment-related proceedings.
  • Drafting pleadings, submissions, cause papers, and other court documents, and conducting legal research to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Managing client communication, attending court appearances across all stages of proceedings, and supporting senior lawyers on complex or multi-party disputes.

Why Join Us?

We are a top-ranked law firm, consistently recognised by The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, Benchmark Litigation and Asialaw. What drives us is not the rankings; it’s doing excellent work that matters.

We help clients solve difficult workplace and commercial disputes with practical, commercial, and strategic advice. We expect high standards and give you the support and tools to meet them.

This role is litigation focused. Your primary areas of work will be employment disputes and civil/commercial litigation, where you will be expected to handle both, and to do both well. You will appear regularly at the Industrial Court and the civil courts, and you will also have an opportunity to advise on contentious contract matters, investigations, and real-world issues like performance management and employee misconduct.

You will work with leading companies from a wide range of industries. The cases we handle are varied and often complex, so there will be plenty to learn.

Culture wise, we are a close-knit team that values collaboration, integrity, clear communication, and doing things well without overcomplicating them.

If you want to do meaningful work across employment and civil/commercial litigation in a dedicated Litigation & Employment practice, and thrive in a high-performing but down-to-earth environment, we would love to hear from you.
