Employment Associate

(Litigation)

Donovan & Ho’s employment practice group is looking for an employment litigation associate.

About the Role – Employment Associate (Litigation)

We are looking for a dedicated lawyer to join our highly regarded employment practice group as an employment litigation associate. In this role, you will handle a range of employment and industrial relations disputes, from unfair dismissal claims to employment-related civil claims. You will also occasionally support clients on pre-dispute advisory, giving practical, business-oriented advice on workplace issues. This is a hands-on role with direct client exposure, fast learning, and real responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Representing employers in unfair dismissal claims at the Industrial Court, as well as handling related appeals and judicial reviews.
  • Representing employers in other types of employment disputes, including

civil claims and labour office matters.

  • Providing pre-dispute advisory on matters relating to misconduct or poor performance, including advising on domestic inquiries and performance improvement plans.
  • Advising on allegations of constructive dismissal.

Why Join Us?

We are a top-ranked employment law team, consistently recognised by The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, Benchmark Litigation and Asialaw. What drives us is not the rankings; it’s doing excellent work that matters.

We help clients solve difficult workplace issues with practical, commercial, and strategic advice. We expect high standards and give you the support and tools to meet them.

This role is litigation focused. You will be in court, but you will also have an opportunity to advise on contracts, policies, investigations, and other real-world issues like performance management and employee misconduct. We believe the best litigators understand both sides.

In this role you will work with leading companies from a wide range of industries. The cases we handle are varied and often complex, so there will be plenty to learn.

Culture wise, we are a close-knit team that values collaboration, integrity, clear communication, and doing things well without overcomplicating them.

If you care about employment law, want to do meaningful work, and thrive in a high-performing but down-to-earth environment, we would love to hear from you.
